Solar Systems for Farmers & Builders

Solar power is a booming business worldwide, but local installer Solora Solar is among the companies recently named to an annual and well-recognized list of North America’s top solar contractors. Solora Solar has achieved a top 10 ranking in State of Washington for 2014 and 2015.

The Top 500 Solar Contractors List is developed by Solar Power World magazine to recognize the work completed by solar contractors across the U.S. and Canada. The companies on the list are growing the economy, providing jobs and offering electricity consumers a choice about how they get their power. Solora Solar who installed over 2MW of solar in since its founding in 2011.

Solora Solar works amid a burgeoning business market. The U.S. solar market is expected to grow 119% this year, according to global research firm GTM Research. While a majority of solar electricity is produced at large, utility-scale solar power plants, the greatest number of solar jobs are located with companies like Solora Solar firms doing the work to bring clean energy to the public.

The price of solar energy equipment has been significantly reduced in the last 2-3 years. With the combination of price reduction, increase in cost of energy and available incentives — it makes much more economical sense to do solar now rather than later, particularly for commercial entities, mainly due to additional tax benefits that business can qualify for.

Solora Solar recently has worked on two significantly important projects for two particular market segments — home builders and the farming community.

One of the Largest Commercial Construction Systems in Central Washington at Green Acres Fruit

Green Acres has recently built a new 250,000 square-foot hop kiln facility for their hops operation. The building roof has perfect Southern exposure, which provides a perfect opportunity for them to go solar and reduce their energy cost. The system is 112kw (DC) with 437 Trina solar monocrystalline solar panels. This system will qualify for $5,000/year of production cash incentive, 30% federal tax incentive and will generate approximately 90% of customer current energy need with approximate $500,000 savings over next 25 years. In addition, it will also qualify for MACRS accelerated depreciation. System payback is about 5 years. Solora Solar has partnered with Kinter Electric in Sunnyside, Wash., to provide installation for this project.

The system covers roughly 9,000 square feet of the total roof area.

This project also achieves a significant positive impact on the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions — 2,484 tons of CO2 over the next 25 years.
